Press Detail
An in-depth look at the campaign, editorial, or collaboration featured in this press coverage. Each story represents a specific creative brief and a distinct visual direction executed by Rihan Asaya in partnership with the publication or brand.
Editorial Overview
The shoot took place across three days, working between natural light and controlled studio conditions. Rihan worked closely with the photographer and styling team to interpret the brief, which centred on a narrative of quiet confidence — an antidote to the maximalism that had defined the previous season.
The final images were selected from over four hundred frames shot across the engagement. Each published spread was chosen for its capacity to sustain attention at full bleed — a quality that requires both technical precision and a model who understands how to occupy negative space.
From the creative director
"What struck us immediately was the economy of her expression. There is nothing wasted — no performative gesture, no held tension. The camera finds something in her that is genuinely rare: a complete presence without self-consciousness." — Creative Director
Behind the campaign
The campaign was conceived to accompany the brand launch in three new European markets. Rather than a traditional lookbook format, the brief called for a documentary-style approach — images that suggested a real environment and a real narrative, not a constructed scene. Rihan brought a grounded, unaffected quality that suited the concept precisely.
Post-production was kept deliberately restrained — minor colour grading adjustments and no skin retouching beyond standard colour correction. The result was a campaign that the brand described as the most honest work they had produced in over a decade. The images ran in print, digital, and out-of-home formats across six cities.
Rihan has since worked with the same publication on two subsequent issues, each exploring a different aspect of her range — from high-drama fashion to understated beauty close-ups. The working relationship between model, photographer, and editorial team has become one of the more consistent creative partnerships in her schedule.
